The evening was a perfect one for Paul's and my retirement, with splendid food and wines that were served with great sensitivity in timing to what happened to be going on at the tables with speeches and conversation. The service was simply excellent. The vegetarians in our group were extremely happy, by the way. Hung Yok Ip, our Chinese historian, told me that she never ever had enjoyed better vegetarian courses at a restaurant (probably meaning, however, a non-Asian restaurant!)” Mary Jo Nye
